At the engagement session hosted by Stratacom Global for TL President, corporate customers, diplomats, bankers, oil & gas representatives, and esteemed guest speakers, discussions revolved around business and development opportunities in Timor-Leste. Gathered at the Royal Berkshire Hall, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, prominent local business figures were also in attendance. Dr. José Ramos-Horta addressed the audience, aiming to attract investment to the country.
Brunei's Interest To Invest
Representatives from an international company based in Brunei Darussalam have signaled their intention to explore investment opportunities within Timor-Leste's key economic sectors, namely minerals, petroleum, and tourism. Stratacom Global, the company in question, has formally expressed its interest in engaging with Timor-Leste's government officials to discuss potential investment avenues.
Investment in Hotel & Tourism
The company from Brunei Darussalam is contemplating investment opportunities in hotels and tourism in Timor-Leste, potentially through collaboration with the government. During a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Bairo Pite, Tersa, Ambassador TL of Brunei Darussalam, Abel Guterres, alongside journalists, welcomed President Jose Ramos Horta.
Meeting With MOFAC
On Saturday, August 12, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, along with Ms. Milena Rangel, the Deputy Minister for ASEAN Affairs, and Sr. Abel Guterres, the Ambassador to Timor-Leste from Brunei, undertook several visits to explore investment opportunities.
